I discovered Miroque’s work (http://www.miroque.org) on her myspace (http://www.myspace.com/miroquemusic) and her music immediately caught my attention. It made me want to transcribe on a photograph the feelings I had when listening to her music. I got in touch with Miroque in January 2007 and asked her whether it would be possible to take a few portraits of her. She agreed and we eventually planned a photoshoot for the cover of her album “green anthology” that was to be released a few months later. After exchanging emails for several weeks, we agreed on what we wanted to do exactly and found the perfect team! Kei Suzuki, an aspiring young clothing designer, agreed to take part in this project and create a few items especially for the photoshoot. There was also Akemi Kurata, the make-up and hair artist. The photoshoot took place in Tokyo in August 2007. Her album is available online and in stores (HMV, Tower Records…) throughout Japan.
